26 Essential Camping Gear

My fiancé and I have a camping list that we always adhere to when we go on a trip. Whether it's just for a weekend or a longer trip these essential items are always on it. Again, depending on your weather conditions, terrain, and length of stay you may need to bring a couple of extra items but we will start with the basic list first.

Gear to Bring While Camping
1. Tent or Hammocks for shelter and sleeping
2. Coolers with ice for food and drinks
3. Charcoal for cooking (Most campsites will have an outdoor grill)
4. Blow up mattress or Sleeping bags (May need a pump for your mattress)
5. Solar chargers or portable chargers for phones and other devices
6. Pillows and blankets
7. Towels
8. First aid kit
9. Pull out chairs
10. Music player
11. Camp fire starter, matches, and wood
12. Toilet Paper
13. Lanterns or Flashlights
14. Grilling tools
15. Portable fan or heater
16. Clothing and shoes for your particular weather conditions and terrain plus personal toiletries
17. Sanitary Wipes
18. Games
19. Axe or Pocket Knife
20. Zip Ties to lock up tent when you step away
21. Trash bags
22. Bug spray
23. Reusable plates, cups, and silverware
24. Paper towels
25. Aluminum foil for cooking and saving food
26. Large Totes to hold and organize all your camping gear and dry food

You may want to bring a couple more items or less, but all of these items are a staple when we go camping. They each have an important role to make sure we have a successful trip. If you have a question about why a certain item is on this list, please send me a message. If there is something that I am missing from my list please share! Happy camping y'all!

Loved this! Totally agree, plastic totes to hold gear are game changers. I also keep a headlamp with a red light setting - keeps bugs away and doesn’t mess up your night vision. Oh and gummy bears - ALWAYS gummy bears.
